J.P. Curzan
Senior Design Engineer
Jon-Paul (J.P.) has experience in the design of full-custom VLSI as well as board-level programmable logic. He has spent most of the last ten years using PC-based schematic capture, simulation and VLSI layout and verification tools. Trained in VHDL coding techniques for FPGA synthesis and test bench generation, his experience also includes use of Windows/NT-based simulation and synthesis tools from silicon and software vendors such as Xilinx, Lattice, QuickLogic, Aldec, Mentor Graphics and Synplicity.
- Currently performs the design and layout of Nova's VASI and other readouts for both visible and IR applications, and the associated VHDL designs for camera control and video processing.
- Has worked in the tactical/strategic focal plane array (FPA) design groups at the legacy Amber site and at the Raytheon Infrared Operations site.
- Assisted with the design and layout of many custom readout ICs for infrared imaging applications, and gained expertise designing the digital portion of several readouts for high-performance staring FPA programs including 1k x 1k and 2k x 2k sized arrays.
- Received the Bachelor of Science Degree in Electrical Engineering from the University of California, Los Angeles in 1992.
